Even the name Diastasis Recti sounds as scary as hell!
There is too much scaremongering around teaching Pilates clients with Diastasis.
That's because the media has done an excellent job of making postnatal rehab terrifyingly simplistic or simply terrifying!
Which means there are more questions than answers that doom-scrolling through Google just doesn’t help:
- Should I just avoid loaded flexion?
- How am I supposed to know if what I was doing was working?
- If I give the wrong exercise, will my client going to herniate all over the floor?!?!
So even though you have your postnatal qualification, you find yourself avoiding teaching postnatal clients because you’re afraid to make things worse.
You feel like you need to refresh your diastasis knowledge and bring it up to date so you know the exercises you're giving are safe and your clients are going to get results.
